Perhaps your app can’t be everything for everybody. But in the office suite space can you focus on just one piece. EditGrid recently had a post along these lines. I haven’t used EditGrid yet. Have you? Is it significantly better that the competitors it lists? Has its’ specialization resulted in a best in class product? I think Ajax13 should be also listed as a competitor.

What about other applications? You’ve used the tools. Do you think the companies we talk about here should be focusing on extending their product product sets or improving the quality and features of the products they already have?

Hi, I am Cliff from EditGrid. Thank you very much for your blog coverage. For the competition in online office suite, I think it have took off for several months already, and getting severe when Google join the party by launching docs and spreadsheets~

For the direction of “focusing” or “extending”, EditGrid choose the prior, from our change log you know how frequent we improve our product. Some of our competition getting a more and more complete office suite, but we didn’t intended to offer one yet. Unless we have create a good enough product.

By the way, offering our spreadsheet and integrate to different platform is also our goal as well, we have recent integrated to Salesforce.com, if other office app like us goes to the same direction, we believe a high quality platform would eventually grown up.
