WorldTechLogic Wrike Review

December 27, 2006

Also reviewed at WorldTechLogic was Wrike. I looked at this last week. Brett would you consider looking and comparing with Central Desktop? I’d be interested in knowing what you think. Also, any chance you guys will take up the challenge for a comprehensive chart of products?

In general, I’m beginning to struggle with the fact that there are so many applications out there now and so many of them focused on such a specific solution, if you want to do email you choose one product, write documents another, manage tasks another and on and on. I believe the latter part of 2007 is going to see a growing voice from users for consolidation/integration amongst these applications. Do you think that industry participants will respond primarily by integration (separate companies integrating their products together) or consolidation (consolidating companies and merging products)?

    Hi there,

Yes, I would love to review Central Desktop and make a reference to Wrike in the post. And as for the comprehensive chart of products, yeah, I guess we can do that. Let’s see if we’re up to the task, Saas-a-fras-er :)

In regards to your opinion of the many applications out there, I’m 100% agree with you. There are just too many applications out there for people to choose from. In 2007, I would say we are going to see companies integrates applications into one (several companies integrating products together), since it makes more sense than consolidations. If not, I am seeing companies develop their own products (or rather, features) integration themselves and create an even tougher barrier of entry for competitors. The trend is already starting now, not only for business applications, but for other web industries as well (social networks, in particular).

I’ve been experimenting with various project management tools and have discovered an excellent site. It is a very user friendly, web-based application that is well worth taking the time to explore. Take a few minutes and look at Projjex.com. The tutorials are excellent & you don’t need to be a Rocket Scientist to figure out how to use it. It even offers a free version so you can try it on for size.
